Smith, et al v. University of Washington (2000).* Ruling that diversity is an adequate justification for public colleges to consider race in admissions. Upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court (May 28, 2001).
Steelworkers v. Weber (1979).* U.S. Supreme Court held that voluntary, private affirmative action policies are not unconstitutional.
